SOGALA Summer 2008 Newsletter
This Summer SOGALA will put on a Big Outdoor Deck Party at the Penticton Yacht and Tennis Club, with multiple sailings on the Casabella Princess coming and going from the party! It'll be like when the fleet comes in! This will be the Saturday of Ironman weekend, August 23rd, and we will invite GLBT Ironman competitors and their friends and families to join us! First sailing is at 4PM, and the party at the Yacht Club begins at 5PM. Second sailing is at 5:45 PM. Each cruise is about an hour and a half. There will be a full, no host bar both on shore and on the boat. Food will be available to be purchased from the Yacht Club Restaurant. Bring your buds and peeps! Party goes until 9 PM. Bring your swimming trunks and costumes for a cool dip off the boat!
Tickets are $20 for SOGALA members (only until July 19) and $25 for everyone else. They can be purchased NOW on our website with a $1.00 service charge per ticket. Otherwise send your checks to:

Indicate your sailing time preference (4PM or 5:45), # of tickets, and your name, address and email address. Don't wait too long or you might be disappointed, our Casabella trips usually sell out. Tickets and sailing times are strictly first come, first served.
Also do not forget our HOT Summer Night Dance July 19, from 8:30PM-1AM, also at the Penticton Yacht and Tennis Club. This will be your last chance to buy Member-priced tickets for the Casabella Outdoor Deck Party, if they are still available. Hot Summer Night in the Yacht Club Deck under the stars! Admission is Members $7, still best deal in the Okanagan, and non-Members $12.
SOGALA has several new features on our website www.sogala.com, you should check it out regularly! Now on our calendar you can post your own doings, and invite kindred spirits to join in! The Rainbow Riders Bike Club will post meeting times and places for their enjoyable and easy bike rides, and you can post things yourself when you are going on a hike, bike or ATV ride, or are organizing a beach party or potluck. Increase your social life! Network with your GLBT community! Get out more and enjoy life! Just send meeting times and places, and all essential information to our excellent webmaster, Paul, at info@sogala.com and he will get the posting up as soon as he can, which is usually pretty quick. Post ride shares to Kelowna and Vernon dances and events, wildflower hikes, canoe or fishing excursions, bowling days, movie en masse dates, you name it. Go now to www.sogala.com to see what's up.
We have also started a "Classifieds" section on our website. Open to SOGALA members. Have something to sell? Looking for a roommate? Looking for an apartment? Need a ride to Vancouver for Pride Weekend? Our website gets between 1,000 and 1,500 hits a month, and that number just keeps going up. Reach out to your community! And check out our meeting minutes, treasurer's reports, Bylaws and Constitution in the Members Only section of our website. Use the username and password on the back of your membership card.
And finally you can access the SOGALA Forum from our website. Click the new "forums" button at the top of any page and see what is on folks' minds, put your two cents in. Meet new people online, voice your opinion about current topics. Be nice!
